Bespoke Garden Room – Clad in Antique Green Composite
Mr. and Mrs. G of Barnsley faced a common dilemma: their beautiful new home lacked the necessary space for a home gym, an essential feature for their active lifestyle. With an exquisite view of the fields behind their property, they dreamed of a space that would allow them to enjoy the scenery and maintain their fitness routines. To realise this vision, they enlisted the expertise of Heritage Garden Studios.
Understanding the unique needs of Mr. and Mrs. G, Heritage Garden Studios set out to design a garden room that was both functional and beautiful. The Gourlays needed a multi-functional space that could serve as a gym while also providing a serene retreat for relaxation and enjoyment of their pastoral surroundings.

To seamlessly integrate the garden room into the existing landscape, Heritage Garden Studios installed 55 square meters of teak composite decking, faced with sleepers that matched the garden’s original landscaping style. This not only extended the indoor living space outdoors but also enhanced the usability and aesthetic appeal of the garden.
In a thoughtful nod to sustainability, existing plants were carefully relocated rather than discarded. These plants found new homes in the gardens of community members, reducing waste and fostering a greener environment.
The completion of the garden room has profoundly transformed how the Gourlays interact with their space. It now serves as a private gym where they can exercise while enjoying the view of grazing livestock, a tranquil retreat for relaxation, and a picturesque venue for entertaining guests. The project not only fulfilled their immediate needs but also added significant value to their property.

50 Square metres of teak composite cladding was laid, using sleepers to frame the deck area.
